Written content is a key part of our interfaces, from marketing content through to legal data. It is key that is it legible and accessible on any device.

Headings

Provides clear hierarchy of information to users.

Do's

  • Use bold weight for headings
  • Use medium weight for sub-headings
  • Use sentence case format
  • Use the appropriate font-families for your brand
  • Adjust the type scale based on the hierarchical context
  • Adjust the scale as your squad requires, and ensure headings are responsive on various screen sizes

Don'ts

  • Avoid using headings as taglines or slogans
  • Avoid using more than 70 characters for headings
  • Avoid using underlines for headings

Heading white-space

Use soft-grids to define the white-space between headings and body text.
